PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that current concentration of electric current running in a zinc oxide element is caused by voids in the zinc oxide element to reduce the capacity of discharge withstand current rating. SOLUTION: This zinc oxide element consisting essentially of the zinc oxide is formed by mixing a large granulated powder within a prescribed particle diameter range, and a small granulated powder having a particle diameter >=25 μm smaller than the minimum value in the particle diameter range of the large granulated powder. The zinc oxide particles 4 having the small particle diameters are allowed to exist among the zinc oxide particles having the large particle diameters in the inside of the element to make the diameter of the void 5 so as to be <=5 μm. |
