PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot for a bending machine that can shorten cycle time and can widen the area of machining by preventing interference with the machine. SOLUTION: A work suction device 43 arranged on a robot head 39 holds a workpiece W and feeds and positions it to and in a bending machine 1, which in turn bends one side of the workpiece W held in place. After the machining of the one side of the workpiece W, a vertical swing mechanism 59, 61 swings the work suction device 43 into an inverse position, and a joint plate 87 is rotated to place it into an another inverse position, before the next machined side of the workpiece W is fed to and positioned in the bending machine 1.
