PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passage facility allowing the installation of an elevator in the vicinity of an existing staircase. SOLUTION: The elevator 5 is vertically provided in the vicinity of the existing staircase 4 provided extending from a lower floor road surface 2 to an upper floor road surface 4, and a connecting passage 6 is provided between the upper entrance port 5D of the elevator 5 and the upper floor road surface 4. The connecting passage 6 is arranged so as to avoid the vertical projected surface of the upper part of the staircase 4. According to this, the convenience of a passenger can be improved.
