PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain glass with high Young's modulus. SOLUTION: This glass is obtained by designing its composition so as to essentially comprise 35-39.5 wt.% SiO2, 5-30 wt.% Al2O3 10-30 wt.% MgO and 5-20 wt.% TiO2, with the weight ratio MgO/TiO2 of 2-7.
