PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail cleaning device for a passenger conveyor capable of ensuring the safety of a terminal inlet part without performing a new wiring work. SOLUTION: An inlet guard 8 is arranged on the getting-on and-off side of the handrail cleaning device 7 so as to cover the circumferential part of a handrail 3. The installation tool 8B of the inlet guard 8 is connected to an inlet 5 through a working body consisting of a first connector 9, a second connector 11 and a third connector 13, and the displacement of the inlet guard 8 is transmitted to the inlet 5 to operate an existing safety switch 6.
