PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass having a high Young's modulus. SOLUTION: This glass composition has compositional ranges of principal components of >=45 and <=60 wt.% of SiO2, >=5 and <=20 wt.% of Al2O3, >=9 and <=25 wt.% of MgO, >=0.1 and <=12 wt.% of TiO2, >=0.1 and <=12 wt.% of Li2O and >=5 and <=22 wt.% of ZnO in the glass composition.
