PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording and a recorder wherein a device for heating a recording medium is miniaturized and a stable quantity of heat can be supplied thereto. SOLUTION: Heating of the recording medium including a photosensitive thermal transfer material is executed by means of a thermal head 26 in a coloring process of a recording process. A driving control section 28 executes temperature controlling so as to set the thermal head 26 in a predetermined control temperature by switching a mode of energy to be applied to the thermal head 26 based on a detection temperature from a temperature sensor built in the thermal head 26. As a result, the recording medium can be heated in a short time by the thermal head 26 compared to a case of a beat roller conventionally used for the heating and after that the heating temperature is stably controlled so that variation in coloring density of the recording medium can be reduced. Contrarily to a big conventional heat roller, the thermal 26 is small so that it is possible to miniaturize the recorder.
