PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device capable of determining a position accurately, and speedily in a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: This positioning device 11 using a taper pin is one for determining a position by inserting the pin 14 into a reference hole 131. The edge of the reference hole 131 facing to the insertion side of the pin 14 is chamfered like a plate with about 45 deg. gradient, and the tip corner part of the pin 14 is chamfered like a taper with about 45 deg.. Thus the reference hole 131 and the pin 14 are relatively positioned by abutting the end edge 132 of the plate-like opening of the reference hole 131 on the projecting corner edge 143 of the tip of the pin 14.
