PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base coating composition that can form a polyester resin film strengthened particularly in hot water resistance and solvent resistance. SOLUTION: The water-base coating composition comprises (A) a polyester resin which has an acid value of 11-40 mgKOH/g, a weight average molecular weight of 14,000 or more, and a degree of dispersion of the molecular-weight distribution of less than 4.0, and (B) a curing agent.
