PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a sheet in an excellent condition even when a load resistance of the sheet is high in a sheet feeder sending out the sheet from a tray by pressing a nudger roller on the sheet and rotating it. SOLUTION: In this sheet feeder 4 arranged on a sheet feeding tray, the nudger roller 5 is supported by a support link 7 inclined by angleθdownward toward a downstream side against a support shaft 9 arranged in an upper stream part of the nudger roller 5. A shaft 6 of the nudger roller 5 is supported through the support link 7, the nudger roller 5 is rotated through the support shaft 9 as a drive shaft, and the nudger roller 5 is driven by a transmission mechanism combining gears. When the paper is fed by driving the nudger roller, a press force corresponding to resistance of the sheet is automatically applied to execute a sheet feeding operation.
