Settlement of transaction about waste disposal can be automatically performed using data used for waste disposal without involving the participators including the waste generator, the collecting/transporting company, and the disposal company. Information is processed for calculating the costs needed for the steps of waste disposal and shared by the persons carrying out the steps on the basis of the information representing the contents of the waste disposal steps, and the information representing the costs is transmitted to a settling device connected over a network. The settling device uses means for settling the costs of waste disposal paid to the persons doing the waste disposal on the basis of the transmitted information representing the costs. An electronic tag attached to the waste has a structure causing no congestion in reading the electronic tag. |
