A catalyst for the polymerisation of 1-olefins is disclosed, comprising a complex having the Formula (I) wherein M is a transition metal, lanthanide or actinide; X represents an atom or group covalently or ionically bonded to the transition metal M; T is the oxidation state of the transition metal M and b is the valency of the atom or group X; Z is oxygen or NR<5>; Y is oxygen or NR<7>; L is a group datively bound to M, and n is from 0 to 5; A<1> to A<3> are each independently N or P or CR, with the proviso that at least one is CR, R, R<5> and R<7> are each independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl, substituted heterohydrocarbyl, or SiR'3 where each R' is independently selected from hydrogen, halogen hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl and substituted heterohydrocarbyl; and R<4> and R<6> are each independently a substituent of the formula (I), wherein R<10> to R<14> are each independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl, substituted heterohydrocarbyl, or SiR'3 where each R' is independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, hydrocarbyl, substituted hydrocarbyl, heterohydrocarbyl and substituted heterohydrocarbyl, subject to the proviso that at least one of R<10> and R<14> is not H. |
