There is disclosed an apparatus for distributing particulate fertilizer, comprising at least one substantially horizontal distributor disc (1) to be driven about an axis of rotation (2), on the surface of which substantially radially extending blades (4) are present, and feed means for feeding the fertilizer to be distributed to the surface of the distributor disc (1) on which said blades (4) are present. The feed means are made up of an axially extending feed opening (5), which is substantially diamond-shaped in section, wherein a first side (6) is formed by a straight line, which extends from a circle (7) having a first radius, which is concentric with the axis of rotation (2), until a circle (8) having a larger, second radius, which is concentric with the axis of rotation (2), and which includes a positive angle with a radial (9'), seen in the direction of rotation, a second side (10) lying opposite said first side (6) extends in a corresponding manner as said first side, albeit at a position in which it is offset through a specific angle of displacement in the direction of rotation, and a third side (11) and a fourth side (12), which lie opposite each other, are formed by circular arcs (7,8) which interconnect the ends of said first and second sides. <IMAGE>
