PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide automatic information distribution service which can lighten the load of data management on a WWW server. SOLUTION: A JAVA(R) program running on JVM 14 in a portable telephone set 10 operates a timer 16 and sends an instruction 'accessing a WWW server 40 providing contents to obtain the contents of a specified URL' to a control part 12 at constant intervals of time. The control part 12, having received the indication sends information from a radio part 11 via a base station 20 and the information, is converted in protocol at a gateway 30 and sent to the WWW server 40 which provides the contents via the Internet. The WWW server 40 notifies a WWW server program 42 of the information that a LAN interface 41 has received, and then the WWW server program 42 sends specified contents stored on a hard disk 43 from the LAN interface 41 to a portable telephone set 10.
