<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet switch apparatus capable of operating with mounting of necessary numbers of switch blocks of the same configuration responding to the speed types of installed lines. SOLUTION: In this switch apparatus, a scheduler part 4 designates sending targets SW 3-1-3-4 and output interface parts 2-1-2-n based on the requests from input interface parts 1-1-1-n, at the installing of interfaces equivalent to 4N, the maximum 4 cells at N units can be outputted at once, and SW 3-1-3-4 can be switched at 4 units so that the configuration of n×n switches equivalent to 4N can be configured by only 1 block of SW 3-1. In a like manner, the n×n switches equivalent to 16 N can be configured by 16 blocks of SW 3-1-3-16, a step-by-step expansion becomes available.</p> |
