PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method for demonstrating a requested function while using present constitution without providing new constitution as the constitution for demonstrating a closed caption function for instance. SOLUTION: A memory control unit 10 respectively adjusts and sets the position of an address generated to a window area adjacent to an image data area in the memory space of a memory part 14 by a memory controller 12, stores data different from supplied image data in the specified position of the address and reads the image data including the window area from the memory part 14 when read control signals are supplied to the memory part 14. The read data are inserted to the prescribed position of a blanking period.
