PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording/reading device, particularly a high light efficiency evanescent light head, for realizing the recording/reading of the high density information by the interaction with a recording medium through evanescent light and to provide a method for manufacturing the evanescent light head. SOLUTION: A mechanism to propagate energy through plasmons is realized and light efficiency is enhanced by forming a fine metallic particles-dispersed layer at the minute opening where the evanescent light is generated.
