PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting method for a guide shaft of a linear-drive assem bly having an easy operation capable of obtaining excellent co-axiology to meet the long-axis trend. SOLUTION: The method is the one wherein the guide shaft 25 for holding and leading a traveling unit is mounted to a bracket 22 of a linear-drive assembly that linearly drives the traveling unit is a shaft direction by means of rotation of a motor shaft that is extrudingly and outwardly extended. Each fixing hole 1, 1 is so bored as to correspond to each other at a predetermined position of the U-shaped bracket 22 so that the guide shaft 25 is loosely fixable thereto. An impact is given from the outside to a hole direction for boring a burr 2 at the fixing hole 1, 1, and then a free play in the axial direction of the guide shaft 25 is controlled by making use of a diameter that is narrowed by the burr 2. This method allows the assembling without developing deflection at the guide shaft 25 as a press-fitting process is not necessitated. And furthermore, an error of the co-axiality after the assembling is absorbed as the guide shaft has the free-play portion in a radial direction. Thus, an even and stabilized linear-driving force can be obtained.
