PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video editing system which can complete processing for extracting plural short videos from video to be edited for a shorter time than conventional processing. SOLUTION: In a video editing system, after video to be edited is rewinded to the head (S103), reproduction is started (S109), and a short video is taken in based on edition information (S111-S127). At the time, reproduction of the video to be edited is continued without stopping, when a counter value of a counter 25 passes a start point of the short video to be extracted (S113: YES), the next short video is recorded by leaving the short video as it is. Thus, after processing is finished in the general way for plural short videos in edition information (S127: YES), when several short videos being not yet recorded are left (S129: NO), the tape is rewinded again (S103), and same take-in processing is repeated for the remaining short video being not yet recorded.
