PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a communication procedure among a plurality of instances, one of which is a protocol tester. SOLUTION: In a method for setting communication procedure, communication data are selected by selecting an instance which occupies part of the communication procedure, a protocol layer based on the communication procedure, and the summarized communication interface of a protocol for the communication procedure. Then the communication procedure is automatically set through the protocol tester based on these selections. The selection is performed from among choices and a selectable parameter is assigned to a description file.
