PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for a traveling object which automatically sets frequency data according to the position of the traveling object. SOLUTION: The area and the frequency band of a radio wave of the area used are stored in a ROM 4, the area where the traveling object is located is detected from the current location measured by a GPS receiver 2, and the reception frequency bands of FM/AM bands are set in the receiver, on the basis of its detection results.
