PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing time, weight and reliability by changing the connection method, in which using a clad material of aluminum and nickel, the clad material is first welded to a cell case with aluminum side of the clad material as the cell case side, and then the nickel lead of the protection element and the nickel metal layer of the clad material are connected. SOLUTION: A lead of the protective element body 1, which comprises temperature detecting function that shuts down or dampens the electrical current, when the detected temperature reaches a prescribed value or higher, is structured to be equipped with an aluminum layer 3b on one side face. When the aluminum cell case 4 and an aluminum layer side 3b of the lead strip are connected.
