PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly start a programs. SOLUTION: The method for setting the environment of a program by referring to an environment setting file previously recording the storage address of a data file and automatically reading out the data file from the storage address and processing the read data file includes a step for retrieving a storage means 4 storing the data file and checking the storage address of the data file and a step for writing the storage address obtained by the result of the preceding step in the environment setting file and updating the contents of the environment setting file.
