PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly position a display device like a fluorescent display tube, to a holder for the purpose of mounting the same at a substrate regardless of the dimensional tolerance generated in the joint part between the back plate and display of the display device. SOLUTION: The holder 5 for mounting the display device 1 having the back plate 3b at the substrate 11 is provided with position regulating members 6 and 7 for regulating the positions of the adjacent two sides, i.e., one side longitudinal edge and one side transverse edge orthogonal therewith of the display device at its bottom surface 5B. The heights of the position regulating members are set lower than the thickness of the back plate 3b of the display tube, by which the back plate 3b may be brought into abutment on the position regulating members 6 and 7 regardless of the dimensional tolerance in the joint part of the back plate 3b.
