PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store an automatic telephone answering message in characters in addition to a voice signal. SOLUTION: The automatic telephone answering message is stored in storage areas 5, 6 of a storage section 4 in terms of characters in addition to a voice signal. Furthermore, diversified selection for the reproduction of the stored characters/voice signal is attained by means of voice/voice, voice/character, character/character, and character/voice.
