The use of dimethicone copolyol panthenyl phosphate compounds (I) in cosmetic, skin cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical formulations is new. The use of dimethicone copolyol panthenyl phosphate compounds of formula (I) is claimed in the preparation of cosmetic, skin cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical formulations. M = H, alkali metal (e.g. Na or K), NH4 or aminoalcohol salt residue (e.g. (2-hydroxyethyl)-ammonium), and R3 = alkoxylated polysiloxane residue. An Independent claim is included for cosmetic, skin cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical compositions containing (I) at 0.1-10 (preferably 1-3) wt. % (optionally together with phosphated alkoxylated polysiloxane surfactant(s) (specifically a dimethicone copolyol phosphate salt) and/or panthenol).
