PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably charge to a prescribed value without overcharging all batteries even when fluctuation in capacity and internal resistance exists among the batteries. SOLUTION: This motor car is driven by an electric motor 1 that is driven by current from a plurality of batteries 10 that are connected in series, and has inverters 3 and 7 that supply a generated current as a battery charge current, a converter 18 that is connected to the batteries 10 to supply the charge current from an external power supply to each battery 10, and a bypass circuit 17 that is connected to each battery 10 in parallel to bypass the battery 10 for allowing charge current to flow when the charge voltage of each battery 10 reaches the prescribed value.
