PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD data preparation method capable of extremely excluding a work such as the change or addition of mutual interfaces at the time of transmitting component data between systems. SOLUTION: At the time of preparing the CAD data of plate materials 1 in which scallops 2 and 3 are formed, the scallops are considered as virtual components 12 and 13, and at least the component names and component kinds of the virtual components 12 and 13, and the component names of components to be subordinated, contact position data (a1-a4, b1-b4) with the components to be subordinated, and shape data (solid data) indicating the shapes of the virtual parts 12 and 13 are added to the data of the plate materials 1 as the data of the virtual components. Then, the virtual components are analyzed at a CAM system side so that it is possible to easily obtain even data related with the scallops which do not originally exit at the plate material 1 side.
