PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and a receiving method capable of using the contents of a systematic database corresponding to a broadcasted program, etc., by a simple method by preparing the database. SOLUTION: The receiver is provided with an information receiving part 13 for receiving program attribute information having at least one attribute data provided with a tag showing the attribute of a broadcasting program, a schema construction part 14 for constructing a database schema corresponding to the tag received by the part 13, a schema management part 15 for managing the database schema and an information storing part 16 for storing the database schema and attribute data received by the part 13 as a database.
