PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide program updating method and device capable of rewriting a control program for an automatic vending machine by executing communication between a management center for managing plural automatic vending machines and each automatic vending machine. SOLUTION: A peripheral equipment management part 11 downloads a control program from the management center through a communication part 12 and rewrites the control program in accordance with the state of a device whose control program is to be rewritten out of respective devices 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.
