PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval device by which anticipation for retrieval condition is unnecessary and the amount of column data necessary for retrieval is reduced to a necessary minimum. SOLUTION: This data retrieval output device is provided with a retrieval condition match-or-mismatch determination means by which a file of data retrieval object is separated into a direct retrieval condition portion and a related output portion, a block coinciding with the retrieval condition at first is directed to be read into an internal memory (S1), and regarding the block matching the retrieval condition, its related output portion is directed to be read into the internal memory (S5). The matching result determined by the retrieval condition match-or-mismatch determination means is outputted.
