PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cache management device which performs generation management by not only information on the URL of a Web site over the Internet or an intranet, but also information management and prereading at the time of access, when the Web site is registered as a bookmark. SOLUTION: This cache management device manages information stored in a cache storage means of a proxy server and is equipped with a cache- information-by user registering means, which is accessed from terminals and registers cache information by users, a means which relates the cache information registered by the registering means to the reference source of cache information, and a generation information managing means, which obtains update information at a request to update information at the reference source and registers it as history information on cache information by the users.
