PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp the progress of the production of a newspaper space without giving a burden to a person in charge. SOLUTION: In the newspaper space production system, a plurality of elements constituted of articles and pictures which are to be inserted on the respective spaces of a newspaper are managed, and the managed elements are read and are arranged on the spaces. The areas of the elements arranged on the respective spaces are calculated and the degree of work progress in the production of the newspaper space is calculated on the basis of the calculated arrangement area.
