PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise information providing system for returning all or a part of proceeds to a tag issuing person having guided a user to a Web service. SOLUTION: An equipment-side device 3 installed at a store transmits an electronic tag including the code of merchandise desired by the user 4 and a tag issuing person code to a portable user terminal 5. Through the use of the terminal 5 or an installed type user terminal 6, the user 4 accesses to a service center 1 via a network 8 and transmits the code of the merchandise and the tag issuing person code in the electronic tag. The service center 1 provides merchandise information via the network 8 and when online settlement concerning the purchase of the merchandise is performed via the network between with the user terminal 5 or 6, a part of the proceeds is distributed to the tag issuing person corresponding to the code of the tag issuing person.
