PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a server for the address management to implement effective and smooth net surfing. SOLUTION: An address management server 100 registers a URL at a URL register table 110 responding to requests by clients C1 to Cn and represents the URL in a referable mode, which is registered by C, in accordance with the request for the references by clients C1 to Cn. The server accesses regularly a HP(home page) specified by the URL of the URL register table 110 and retrieves an updated date. If the HP updated date obtained is more recent than the previous access time, the server notifies the client C that the HP is updated in a HTML(hyper text markup language) file for the entire URL, which is supposed to be sent to the client C.
