PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic equipment capable of making programs for reading processing common in both cases of a key switch such as a cursor key and a jog dial. SOLUTION: When output of the jog dial changes (S1; YES) and its change is valid (S2; YES), whether or not the output is for one click of the jog dial is judged (S3). When the output is for one click (S3; YES), on confirming vacancy of a key buffer (S4 ; YES), when transition of the jog dial is clockwise (S5; YES), a key code corresponding to a right cursor key (S6) is stored in the key buffer and when the transition of the jog dial is counterclockwise (S5; NO), a key code corresponding to a left cursor key (S7) is stored in the key buffer. And port information this time is written in a RAM (S8).
