<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of rotary magnetic heads for a digital informa tion signal. SOLUTION: A rotary drum assembly 10 is constructed in such a manner that a pair of recordable/reproducible rotary magnetic heads H7A and H7B are attached to face each other by 180 deg. on the outer peripheral surface of an upper drum 15, having mutually opposite specified azimuth angles, and sharing a standard(STD) mode time and a high speed(HS) mode time, are supported so as to be rotated integrally with the upper drum 15. At the high speed(HS) mode time, the tape speed of a magnetic tape is set to be double of that at the standard mode time, and the rotational speed of the upper drum 15 is set to be double of that at the standard mode time. A drum slope angle correcting means controls the rotational loci of the rotary magnetic head pair H7A and H7B so as to obtain the track pattern of a first slope angle (θSTD) at the standard mode time, and the track pattern of a second slope angle (θHS) at the high speed mode time.</p> |
