PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal and a communication control method can reduce a processing time required for cell searching in the case of hand-over and reduce a processing time required for detection of a base station making the hand-over and for synchronizing signals. SOLUTION: A cross-reference storage section 101 stores a spread code of a related base station in association with a spread code of adjacent base stations to each related base station, a code selection section 105 selects the spread code stored in the correspondence information storage section 101 and outputs the selected spread code to a code generating section 16 and an information update section 107, the code generation section 106 generates a spread code and outputs it to an inverse spread section 104, and the inverse spread section 104 uses the spread code and applies the inverse spread processing to a received signal. A demodulation section 108 outputs a demodulation result to the information update section 107 and the information update section 107 outputs a result of discrimination to the correspondence information storage section 101 when the information update section 107 discriminates that the selected spread code is the spread code of the adjacent base station on the basis of the result of reception.
