PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device where fixing temperature is not lowered even when recording paper is carried in the fixing device and whose fixing quality is stable as a fixing device whose heat capacity is large and in which the recording paper is intermittently carried. SOLUTION: A temperature control part 41 calculates the quantity of heat necessary for the fixation of the recording paper P carried in based on a signal outputted from each sensor and a parameter value outputted from an input part 40 and decides heating time. Considering heat transfer time required unit the fixing temperature of the outer peripheral surface of a heating roller 31 rises after a 2nd halogen lamp 34 starts heating, the control part 41 outputs an ON-signal to a 2nd driving relay 43 at time earlier than scheduled time when the paper P is carried in a contact part between the heating roller 31 and a pressure roller 32 by the heat transfer time.
