PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prepare a document with image. SOLUTION: As a dictionary for Japanese IME, an image dictionary 2 storing images to be the conversion candidates of a prescribed KANA character string is set in addition to an ordinary character string dictionary 1. To each of images in the image dictionary 2, part-of-speech information and attribute information such as selection frequency and selection histories of candidates are respectively set similarly to the character string dictionary 1. When the KANA character string is inputted, a converting processing part 4 retrieves the respective dictionaries 1 and 2 and extracts candidates corresponding to the inputted KANA character string. The extracted candidates are displayed on similar conditions regardless of the classes of character string and image. An output forming part 6 determines any candidate of the character string or image as converted result corresponding to the selecting/determining operation of a user and outputs the result through an OS 8 to an application 9. |
