PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket and a lighting fixture that enables a lamp to come closer to a mounting face, so that the lighting fixture can be made thinner. SOLUTION: This is equipped with the first pair of fixtures 2a, 2b connected to the first pair of conductive plates 9a, 9b arranged close to a mounting face 5 in a socket main body 1, and the second pair of fixtures 3a, 3b connected to the second pair of electro-conductive plates 10a, 10b arranged apart from the mounting face 5 to the first pair of conductive plates. The second pair of fixtures 3a, 3b has a pin retainer 11 which extends and slants from the second pair of conductive plates 10a, 10b and a pin retainer 12 which bends both sides of the pin retainer part 11 toward the mounting face 5 and which extends further forward than the pin retainer 11.
