PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of color smear generated by misalignment of radiation of an electron beam against a phosphor screen caused by a recessed distortion of a panel surface because of a decreasing of a clamping force of an explosion-proof band for clamping an outer periphery of a panel skirt arising from a difference of thermal expansion coefficients of a panel member and the explosion-proof band during an operation state wherein a temperature of the surface of the panel member is lower than those of a funnel part and the explosion-proof band. SOLUTION: Temperature correction bodies 3 to 14 are interposed between a periphery surface of the panel skirt 54b of a cathode-ray tube 1 and the explosion-proof band 2 formed so as to surround the periphery surface thereof. During operation of the cathode-ray tube 1, decreasing of the clamping force, which is caused by slight movement of the explosion-proof band 2 in an arrow e direction with respect to the panel skirt 54b, is corrected by deformation generated by temperature change of each temperature correction body, thereby the clamping force is maintained constant.
