PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus which manufacture display panels by laminating panel elements for forming the display panels to display images and which are capable of aligning the adjacent panel elements, bringing the panel elements into tight contact with each other under deaeration from between both panel elements and bonding the panel elements to each other in a wrinkle-free state and make it possible obtain the display capable of making the correspondingly good images. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the display panels includes a step of providing at least one surface of the surfaces to be bonded to each other of the first and second panel elements c1 and c2 with an adhesive N, a step of aligning the panel elements c1 and c2 to each other and arranging the elements in such a manner that the surfaces to be bonded to each other face each other and a press welding process step for pressure welding the panel elements c1 and c2 aligned to each other in the state of interposing the adhesive N therebetween and executes the mutually pressure welding in the pressure welding step by initially partially pressure both panel elements c1 and c2 to each other, gradually widening the mutually pressure welded segments from the initially mutually pressure welded segments and executing the mutually pressure welding over the entire surface. This apparatus for manufacturing the display panels implements the method described above.
