PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structured document editing method for reducing the time and labor for document picture program development by disclosing picture design information in a form processible by computer in a document accepting enterprise and automatically updating a picture generating function or content verifying function corresponding to the latest picture design information. SOLUTION: This method is provided with a download step 6 for acquiring picture design information 7 expressing design information required for generating a document picture or verifying document contents from a document accepting server via a computer network 3, a structured document operation step 8 for verifying contents while referring to the picture design information 7 and a picture display step 10 for generating the document picture while referring to the picture design information 7 so that the picture generating function or content verifying function can be automatically updated.
