PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a working efficiency with respect to reading of an original. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with a discrimination section 21 that discriminates a type of original (color/gray scale/binary monochromatic original) on the basis of read data and with an image processing section 22 that converts the read data into read data in matching with the type of the original on the basis of the result of discrimination.
