The method involves transmitting a high frequency excitation pulse (AP) with a flip angle of approximately 90 degrees. A high frequency re-phasing pulse (RPx, RPy) with a flip angle of 180 degrees is transmitted. A phase coding gradient (PG1) is switched on. A read-out gradient (RG) is switched on and a magnetic resonance signal is acquired. The following steps are the performed at least three times. A high frequency re-phasing pulse (RPy, RPx) with a flip angle of 180 degrees is transmitted, having a 90 degree phase offset from the immediately preceding re-phasing pulse (RPx, RPy). The read-out gradient (RG) is switched on and a magnetic resonance signal is acquired.
