The device for diverting sheets (7) coming from a printing machine out of the main processing stream comprises a guide plate (6.9) which is positioned in front of the suction belt (6.1) and gripper (4.16) which normally process the sheets. A blower (6.2) is directed against the front edge of each sheet and diverts it from the direction (7.3) of the main product stream. An Independent claim is included for a printing machine containing the device.
