A gaming card comprises a base layer, an upper sheet extending over the base layer, and an opaque cover sheet extending over the upper sheet. At least part of the cover sheet is separable to expose a portion of the upper sheet. The upper sheet is scratched to cause the upper sheet to interact so that an icon or indicia indicating whether a prize or similar has been won is visible through a portion of the upper sheet when the upper sheet.
