An additive for the improvement of cold flow properties of middle distillates comprises 10-95 wt.% copolymers of lower olefins and vinyl esters containing saturated branched 6-16C alkyls having one tert. C atom bonded to the carboxyl group and 5-90 wt. % of a copolymer containing ester, anhydride or amide groups. An additive (I) for the improvement of cold flow properties of middle distillates comprises (A) 10-95 wt.% copolymers of lower olefins and vinyl esters containing (A1) 85-97 mol. % of bivalent structural units of formula (1) and (A2) at least 3 mol. % of bivalent structural units of formula (2) (B) 5-90 wt. % copolymer comprising (B1) 40-60 mol.% of bivalent structural units of formula (3) or (4) and (B2) 40-60 mol. % of bivalent structural units of formula (5) and optionally (B3) 0-20 mol. % bivalent structural units derived from polyolefins that are prepared from 3-5 C mono-olefins and optionally (C) further copolymers that are different to (A) and (B) of ethylene and one or more vinyl- or acrylic esters that are effective as cold flow improvers for middle distillates alone. -CH2-CR1>R2> [Image] -H2C-CHR5> (5) R1>, R2>H or methyl; R3>saturated branched 6-16C alkyl having one tert.
