<p>A first processing unit monitors and controls the function of a first electronic control system, whilst a second processing unit monitors and controls the function of a second electronic control system. One or both of the processing units monitors the operation of the other unit. In circumstances in which a fault is detected in a monitored unit, the non-faulty unit takes over the monitoring and controlling function of faulty unit.</p> |
